Kathryn Minard is a Certified Appraiser of Personal Property (CAPP) and former instructor in Appraisal Studies with the International Society of Appraisers (ISA). The CAPP designation is the highest professional designation conferred by the ISA. It is attained by successful completion of a comprehensive program emphasizing legal, ethical and theoretical aspects of appraising and entails the peer review of appraisal reports, professional development activities and a comprehensive board examination.

Specializing in the valuation of Canadian art, Kathryn has served on the Art Advisory Committee of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, the Board of Trustees of the Textile Museum of Canada, and as a Special Advisor to the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board. She is the owner and president of Contemporary Fine Art Services Inc. dba Art Advisory.com and the firm has advised clients on the acquisition and sale of fine art and provided a range of services related to art collection management since 1981.

Highly regarded for her appraisal expertise, she provides clients with valuations for insurance coverage, damage and loss claims, charitable or cultural property donation, estate planning and division of assets, purchase or sales advice, determination of estate tax or capital gains tax, bankruptcy, divorce or partnership dissolution and expert witness and litigation support.

Ms. Minard’s qualifications as an appraiser meet the Personal Property Appraiser Qualifications Criteria established by the Appraiser Qualifications Board of The Appraisal Foundation and the requalification requirements of the International Society of Appraisers and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice 2018-2019.
